ABOUT OVERLAND TRIPS PROGRAM
This is one of our tour program in Sumatra "Overland Trips" which is letting our guests having more days traveling and knowing more about Sumatra with combination tour between nature, culture, and adventure. We are also glad to helping our clients who want make some changes with their tour in Sumatra such as more days in one place even make it less so please don't be shame to ask or even contact us.

Our overland trips begin from North Sumatra until Lampung but possible also starting from Aceh to Java. Thus our programs are including :

Aceh
The westernmost province of Indonesia which became world-famous overnight after the 2004 boxing-day tsunami. It is the country's most socially and religiously conservative province, and the only one to practice Islamic Sharia laws. SCUBA dive and snorkel on the island Pulau Weh in the north and Singkil on the south, relax for two or three days on the shore of tranquil Lake Laut Tawar in Takengon (Gayo Highlands) and do a trekking trip the wild jungles on the hills of Gunung Leuser National Park through Ketambe and Kutacane.

North Sumatra
A dynamic province where sizable shares of Christian and Muslim populations living together in peace for centuries. Pay a visit to orangutan sanctuary in Bukit Lawang, stop at Maimun Palace in Medan, Sumatra's largest city, watch the majestic Sipiso-Piso waterfall in Berastagi, circle the Lake Toba while making a stop at Tele to watch the sunrise above the lake, and meet semi-primitive
tribesmen of Nias.

West Sumatra
The land of Minangkabau people, very famous for their spicy cuisines. Here you can visit the historical city of Bukittinggi, amazed by magnificent scenery along Harau Valley and architectural marvels of Kelok Sembilan, relax on the shore of Lake Maninjau or cycling on the side of Lake Singkarak, surf through insanely strong waves on Mentawai, stroll around the exotic coal city of Sawahlunto as well as a visit to Pagaruyung Palace of Batusangkar.

Riau
Different from the rest of Sumatra that are commonly mountainous, this province is relatively flat. The overflowing oil brings in the wealth and prosperity to the whole province. Visit the largest remains of Srivijaya Empire, Muara Takus, of Kampar, visit the beautiful white-marble palace of Siak Sri Indrapura, and doa trekking trip to Tesso Nilo national park, famous of its Sumatran elephant
populations.

Jambi
The centrally located province of Sumatra is practically unheard as a tourist destination. But do not overlook this sparsely populated province. Here you can hike to the top of Sumatra's highest peak, Mount Kerinci, while paying a visit to Kerinci-Seblat National Park, the last home of Sumatran
tigers. Near the capital, lies Muaro Jambi, the largest temple compound in Sumatra, where it is easy to spend the whole day.

South Sumatra
The bustling and prosperous province with strong blend of Melayu culture. This province was once the central seat for the mighty Srivijayan Empire. Visit Palembang, Sumatra's second largest city, to take the picture of Jembatan Ampera at night while enjoying unique local cuisine, continue to pleasant highlands of Pagaralam and Lahat, mountainous highlands dotted with valleys and
waterfalls.

 Bengkulu
The province is isolated by Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park mountain range. It offers numerous historical attractions. Visit the Fort Marlborough, British Empire's second greatest fortress in Asia, and exile house of Soekarno, Indonesia's first president. You can also visit Bukit Kaba on the east or
just cross to Enggano Island, an unspoiled island in Indian Ocean with beautiful beaches.

Lampung
As the southernmost province of Sumatra, people enters Sumatra from Java through this province. Plan a trekking trip to Way Kambas National Park, the home of Sumatran elephants and rhinos, head to the west where you can find unspoiled beaches of Krui. On the south, the Kiluan Bay offers you dolphin sightseeing trip as well as hike the famous Mount Krakatau on Sunda Strait.

23D/ 22N NORTH TO WEST SUMATRA OVERLAND TOUR END BOUNTY ISLAND

DAY 1. AIRPORT MEDAN - HOTEL
Arrive in Medan Airport meet and greet with your guide then drive to Medan for check in to your hotel in Medan. Afternoon free at your own leisure.

DAY 2. MEDAN - TANGKAHAN
After breakfast drive to Tangkahan before Tangkahan make city tour in Medan will be visiting such as Grand Mosque Al-Mashun, Maimoon Palace, Vihara Gunung Timur Tempel and continue to Tangkahan. Make it stop also at Palm Oil and rubber plantation and some nice view at the village and river. Afternoon arrive in Tangkahan check in at your hotel and you have free at your own leisure.

DAY 3. TANGKAHAN ELEPHANTS - TUBING
After breakfast walking to elephant center at CRU Tangkahan to see Sumatraanse Elephants and seeing elephants washing. Elephants washing twice in a day at 9am in the morning and afternoon at 4pm. As extra option for guests who want trekking for 1 hour with elephants. After elephants washing walking back to your hotel and continue tubing along Batang river with your local guide to waterfall and having lunch at the waterfall. Afternoon back to your hotel and free at own leisure.

DAY 4. TANGKAHAN - BERASTAGI
After breakfast then driving to Berastagi on the way stop at grand mosque, maimon palace, vihara gunung timur temple in Medan. Continue to Berastagi and make stop at Sembahe river, Sikulikap waterfall, Taman Lumbini, church at Bukit Kubu, Fruits Market then check in to hotel. And free at own leisure.

DAY 5. BERASTAGI - CLIMBING MT. SIBAYAK
After breakfast at hotel then drive to Mt. Sibayak for climbing to Sibayak Volcano. Sibayak volcano is arround 2.200 mtrs above sea level and one active mountain in Sumatra. After excursion in Mt. Sibayak drive to Lau Debu Debu for swimming in hot spring afternoon check in at your hotel.

DAY 6. BERASTAGI - KETAMBE
After breakfast drive to Ketambe via Mt. Sinabung make stop in some nice places and villages. Afternoon arrive in Ketambe and check in to your homestay and free at your own leisure.

DAY 7. KETAMBE TREKKING
After breakfast at hotel restaurant walk to the jungle with your local guide to see wild life inside Leuser National Park and try to looking for Orang utans, Gibbons, Monkyes or Hornbill. During the day arrive at your camping site and having lunch and built your shelter for overnight in the jungle. After take a rest then continue to explore and searching wild life in Leuser National Park. Afternoon walking back to camp site. Dinner will be provide with your guide and sleep in Simple shelter with thin mattress. After that free at your own leisure.

DAY 8. TREKKING - KETAMBE
After breakfast then walking with your guide to hotspring for 1 hours and possible to see wild life. Arrive at hotspring then you can swimming at hotspring during the day walking back to camp site and having lunch and after lunch walking back to the village Ketambe and check in to your homestay in Ketambe.

DAY 9. KETAMBE - TONGGING
After breakfast drive to lake toba Tongging on the way stop at nice views and visiting dokan village and also Sipiso - piso waterfall. Late in the afternoon check in to your homestay in Tongging. And free at your own leisure.

DAY 10. TONGGING - SAMOSIR
After breakfast drive to Samosir and on the way visiting traditional village Pematang Purba with traditional long house batak simalungun, tea plantation and after that drive to ferry harbour and accrossing with ferry to Samosir island. Afternoon check in to your hotel and free at own leisure.

DAY 11. SAMOSIR EXCURSION
After breakfast you will be having excursion in Samosir island and visiting some nice villages such as:
Tomok: to see the old tomb of king Sidabutar
Ambarita: to see stones table and chairs of King Siallagan and showing the execution culture long time ago with king Sillagan.
Simanindo: to see the traditional dance performances with Batak local tribe.
afternoon will be back to your hotel and free at your own leisure.

DAY 12. SAMOSIR EXCURSION
After breakfast drive to Sigarantong te see the most beautiful views of the lake after that walking and visiting some village above Samosir island. Afternoon back to hotel and free at own leisure.

DAY 13. SAMOSIR - SIPIROK
After early breakfast then transfer to Parapat with public boat or together with your driver and car with ferry to Parapat. Arrive in Parapat drive to Sipirok on the way make stop such as pineapple plantation, coffee plantation, traditional market in Balige, views of Sigugur, Hotspring in Sipaholon. Afternoon arrive in Sipirok and free at your own leisure.

DAY 14. SIPIROK - BUKITTINGGI
After breakfast drive to Bukittinggi on the way visiting traditional village with famous as blacksmith, herbs and spices plantation, traditional gold mine, Rimba panti, and crossing the equator. Afternoon arrive in Bukittinggi and free at your own leisure.

DAY 15. BUKITTINGGI TOUR
After breakfast at hotel restaurant you have today Minangkabau Tour and drive to Batu Sangkar then visiting Panoram Tabek Patah, Coffee Kiniko, Replica palace Pagaruyung in Batu Sangkar, Lunch will be at local restaurant Pondok Flora with nice view terrace rice after lunch drive to Lake Singkarak make stop at the lake after that drive back to Bukittinggi and city tour in Bukittinggi and visiting Grand Canyon Sianok, The big band and late afternoon back to hotel and night free at your own leisure.

DAY 16. BUKITTINGGI - HARAU
After breakfast at hotel then drive to Payakumbuh for Harau on the way stop at traditional palace in Payakumbuh. Arrive in Harau check in and free at your own leisure.

DAY 17. HARAU TREKKING
After breakfast you have free at your own leisure then meet your local guide and walking through the village and rice fields inside the Harau Canyon with the most beautiful scenery in West Sumatra until the waterfall lunch will be provide with the guide then back to hotel with Becak or motor with the cab. Afternoon you have free at own leisure and enjoying the views of the hotel.

DAY 18. HARAU EXCURSION
After breakfast then your trips visiting Kelok 9 to see nice views of Harau and after that continue excursion to Taram to see old traditional village with traditional rumah gadang and also beautiful views of Taram. Afternoon drive back to Harau and free at your own leisure.

DAY 19. HARAU - MANINJAU - PADANG
After breakfast then continue to Lake Maninjau to see the most beautiful scenery of the lake with 44 roads bend through the lake. On the way stop at Koto Gadang to see silver work, the view of Sungai Landia but not forget to see scenery of the lake Maninjau in Puncak Lawang then drive to Padang via the cost of Pariaman make stop at Mutiara Beach after that continue to Padang. Arrive in Padang visiting the old bridge of Siti Nurbaya, the grand mosque of Padang and muara beach then check in to your hotel and night free at your own leisure.

DAY 20. PADANG - ISLAND BEACH IN PADANG
After breakfast drive to Bungus for relax at nice island with nice beach where you can enjoyed your last vacation in West Sumatra. Take a boat then sailing to Jophira Beach and overnight at Jophira Beach. Afternoon free at own leisure.

DAY 21. ISLAND BEACH PADANG
After breakfast free at own leisure, swimming, snorkeling or hired boat and visiting other islands for snorkeling such as Pagang Island, Pemutusan or Pulau Mara.

DAY 22. ISLAND BEACH PADANG
After breakfast free at own leisure, swimming, snorkeling or hired boat and visiting other islands for snorkeling such as Pagang Island, Pemutusan or Pulau Mara.

DAY 23. ISLAND BEACH PADANG - AIRPORT
After breakfast transfer to Bungus then drive back to Padang on the way possible make stop at view stop for Teluk Bayur Bay with it's harbor. After that transfer to Airport Minangkabau for your next flight.
